University of Alabama. Prior to
establishing Head Companies in 1979, Mr.
Head was employed by the Real Estate
Investment Department (City Mortgage) of
Equitable Life Assurance Society. From
1979 - 1989 Mr. Head developed over 2
million square feet of commercial
property in 27 shopping centers
throughout the southeast. During this
time Head Companies managed most of the
properties it developed. Mr. Head has
since divested himself of all but 4
centers which he continues to own. In
1989 Mr. Head shifted the focus of Head
Companies and began developing
residential and resort property. Since
1989 through Head Companies he has
developed four 18 hole golf courses with
related swim, tennis, and fitness
amenities.
Since 1997, Mr. Head has
focused primarily on resort residential
condominium development along the northern
Gulf Coast. Mr. Head has completed 815 units
to date and has another 382 units currently
under construction. Currently, Mr. Head
oversees the development, planning and
design for Head Companies developments and
serves as counsel to Head Companies senior
management in operational and developmental
matters of the company.
Head Companies was founded in 1979 by David H. Head.
Today, he leads the company with David H. Head, Jr.,
and a staff whose experience represents a
coast-to-coast track record of successful
