Birmingham (1995). Prior to joining Head
Companies in 1997, Mr. Head was a real
estate broker primarily at The Peninsula
(a Head Companies development) in Gulf
Shores, AL. Upon joining Head Companies
as a development manager, Mr. Head’s
primary area of responsibility was beach
front resort residential development and
construction management.
In 2000, as Vice President
of Development, he was responsible for the
development and construction management of
Wild Heron including the award-winning
Shark’s Tooth Golf Club (ranked No. 2 as
best new private course in Florida - 2002).
In 2001, he oversaw the initial development
and design of Laterra, a 149-unit
condominium project at World Golf Village in
St. Augustine, Florida. The Laterra project
features a world-class spa, the first ever
to bear the PGA designation.
In 2003, Mr. Head became
President of Head Companies. While still
very active in assisting Head’s project
managers in the creative and development
aspects of Head projects, he has also
assumed executive responsibilities
associated with the management of all Head
Companies activities.
Head Companies was founded in 1979 by David H. Head.
Today, he leads the company with David H. Head, Jr.,
and a staff whose experience represents a
coast-to-coast track record of successful
